As part of VistaJet’s ongoing commitment to be Carbon Neutral by 2025, VistaJet has pledged to be the first business aviation company to provide global access to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a liquid and clean substitute for fossil jet fuel. Produced from sustainable resources like waste oils, algae and agricultural residues, the use of SAF in its neat form can result in a carbon emission reduction of up to 85% compared to conventional jet fuel.
As well as being cleaner than kerosene, an additional benefit of SAF is that it can be blended with conventional jet fuel, allowing for a gradual introduction into supplies without the need for any expensive jet engine adaptations.
The single largest potential reduction in aviation’s greenhouse gas emissions is through the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Aviation fuel is VistaJet’s primary emission source is aviation fuelsource, representing 89% of the total greenhouse gas emissions. This comprises of emissions from the production, processing, delivery, and combustion of aviation fuel.
A significant proportion of VistaJet’s commitment to being fully carbon neutral across its entire business by 2025 is the investment in, and use of, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) across its global aircraft operations.
Through our partner SkyNRG, VistaJet is able to offer all its customers the most sustainable, cost-effective and scalable solution to decarbonize their flights: Biofuel Credit.
The Biofuel Credit system allows anyone around the world to invest in SAF even when not physically available at the departure airport. SAF will be delivered to an airport near the production location, minimizing supply chain emissions, where it is then added to the local supply.
The SAF delivered is tracked and verified, and the corresponding carbon emissions factors are calculated and allocated to the VistaJet customer, so only they can claim the carbon credits for carbon offsetting.
